Kivotos Jewelry shop, based in Katerini, a small town in Greece, was founded by Ioannis Tigas in 1988.
KIVOTOS IS A GREEK WORD THAT MEANS ARK AND THAT IS WHY THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT OF THE SHOP WAS TO BE WORK WITH ALL KINDS OF ART.
The local shop started working as a book-shop and art gallery, selling books of art and painting supplies, creating and importing handmade jewelry, collectible minerals, rocks and handmade gift items from all over the world. In 1992 the shop deals exclusively with jewelry making, importing precious and semi-precious stones, works of art, as well as promoting Greek jewelry manufacturers. Since 2005, the store is under the management of Mrs. Helen Kyrmanidou, the experience and knowledge of which, led Kivotos to established as a unique Jewelry shop , purposed to promote Greek handmade jewelry to the world.
In 2017 it was time for Kivotos to make the next step and give the beautiful world of internet a try. A shop on Etsy marketplace was found by Mrs. Helen Kyrmanidou, her daughter Katerina Tiga-Kyrmanidou and Mr. Anthony Karamatsoukis.
In 2021, four years and many unique moments later we have decided to start our own e-shop. We are truly glad and thankful that kivotosjewelry.com has come to life.
Our goals creating our own e-shop are to be able to work with as many handmade designers as possible and try to expand the Greek goldsmith and silversmith to the whole world.
We are feeling blessed that we have the chance to work with such a great people and something that everyday puts a smile on our faces.
